A note on formatting
When a paragraph has a single style — say, a bullet point all in the same font — your edits keep that style perfectly.
When a paragraph mixes styles — say, half the sentence is bold and half is not — the editor shows a small mixed tag next to the field. If you change that paragraph and save, the rewritten text will pick up the formatting of the first run only. The rest of the deck stays untouched.
In real-world decks, mixed-formatting paragraphs are uncommon. If you do hit one and care about preserving the split, open the file in PowerPoint after saving and re-apply the bold or color where needed.
Your file stays on your device
Most online editors upload your deck, modify it on a server, and send it back. This one doesn't.

How do I edit a PPTX file without PowerPoint?
Drop the file into the editor at the top of this page. Every slide becomes a set of editable text fields. Change what you need, click Save, and your edited .pptx downloads. PowerPoint is not required.
Is the editor really free?
Yes. No account, no sign-up, no caps on how many files you edit. The whole tool runs in your browser, so there's no per-file server cost.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The .pptx is parsed, edited, and rewritten locally in your browser. You can confirm in your browser's network tab — no requests are made when you drop a file or save the edits.
Will the layout and design survive?
Yes. The editor only touches text content — slide titles, body text, bullets, and speaker notes. Layout, images, colors, theme styling, and animations all stay exactly as they were.
What about bold, italic, and colored text?
If a paragraph has consistent formatting, edits keep it perfectly. If a paragraph mixes formatting (e.g. bold mid-sentence), the editor flags it as "mixed" and saving will flatten that paragraph to the first run's formatting. The rest of the deck is unaffected.
Can I add or remove slides?
Not in this editor — it focuses on text changes. For adding, removing, or reordering slides, use PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides.
Does it work for old .ppt files?
Only .pptx (PowerPoint 2007 and later). For older .ppt files, open them in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides first and save as .pptx.
What's the file size limit?
50 MB. That covers almost every real-world deck.
Will the file open in PowerPoint and Keynote?
Yes. The editor rewrites only the text portions of the OOXML and leaves the rest untouched, so the resulting file remains a valid .pptx that opens in PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides, and LibreOffice.
