What is a pitch changer?
A pitch changer (or pitch shifter, or key shifter) raises or lowers the pitch of audio without changing how long it plays. Twelve semitones equals one octave — +12 takes audio up an octave, −12 takes it down an octave.
How is this different from a speed changer?
A regular speed changer plays your audio faster or slower, which couples pitch and duration — fast = high-pitched chipmunk, slow = low-pitched tape-stop. A pitch changer shifts only pitch and keeps duration untouched. To change duration without affecting pitch, use the tempo changer.
How does it work?
It uses the SoundTouchJS library, a JavaScript port of the SoundTouch phase-vocoder. The audio is broken into overlapping windows, each window is time-stretched, and the result is resampled to land on the target pitch — so pitch changes but the timeline stays the same length.
Will the audio sound natural?
Small shifts (±3 semitones) sound very natural. Larger shifts (±7 semitones and up) start to introduce phase-vocoder artifacts — slight smearing on transients. Octave shifts (±12) work but the source character will change noticeably.
Is the pitch changer free?
Yes. Completely free with no sign-up, no watermark, and no limits. Max file size is 200 MB.
Is my audio file uploaded to a server?
No. The pitch changer runs entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.

MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, and AAC. Anything your browser can decode will load. Output is exported as a 192 kbps MP3.
