Why Notevibes Stem Splitter
State-of-the-art separation, honest limits, and a full editor when you need it.
Six Clean Stems
The six-source Demucs model splits every song into vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and other — each as its own track.
State-of-the-Art Model
Powered by Demucs, Meta's award-winning open-source separation model — the same engine behind many paid stem splitters.
Karaoke & Acapella Included
The vocals stem is your acapella; everything else together is your instrumental. Only need those two? The vocal remover is faster.
Keep Mixing by Chatting
Open the stems in the AI editor and just say what you want — “mute the drums”, “boost the bass”, “make a karaoke version”.
Clean MP3 Downloads
Every stem downloads as a clean MP3 — no watermark, no preview wall, no credits, no sign-up.

Every Part of the Song, on Its Own Track
Producers want the drum break. Singers need the backing track. DJs want the acapella, and music students want to hear what the bass line is actually doing. Whatever part you’re after, you shouldn’t have to dig through forums hoping someone leaked the studio stems. Upload the song you already have, and a few minutes later every part of it is on its own track — ready to play, download, or remix.
Six stems, not four
Most free splitters stop at four stems and lump guitar and piano into one “other” pile — useless when the guitar riff is exactly the part you want. This splitter separates six: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and everything else. And if a song simply has no piano in it, that stem just comes back silent — nothing fake gets invented.
Quality that holds up in a mix
The separation runs on Demucs — the same AI engine behind many paid stem services — on our servers rather than in your browser tab. That’s the difference between stems you can actually build a remix on and the quick stereo tricks that smear the drums the moment you solo them. A typical song takes one to three minutes, and the stems come back in the quality you uploaded.
Free downloads, no watermark
All six stems are yours to preview and download as clean MP3s — no account, no watermark, no paywall hiding the download button. Fair-use limits (a few songs every few minutes, files up to 40 MB) are what keep it free for everyone.
Your music stays yours
Your file uploads over an encrypted connection, is processed on our own servers, and is deleted automatically the moment your stems are ready. Nothing is stored, shared, or used to train AI.
Faster shortcuts
Only after karaoke or an acapella? The vocal remover focuses entirely on the voice and gets you those two tracks faster. Want a single instrument? The drum extractor, guitar extractor, and piano extractor each pull one part from the mix.
Rebuild the Mix in the AI Editor
Every stem can land on its own track in the Notevibes editor — mute the drums, balance the bass, add effects, and export, all by describing what you want.

Stem Splitter FAQ
How many stems do I get?
Six — vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and “other” (synths, strings, and everything else). If a song has no guitar or piano, that stem simply comes back near-silent.
Is the stem splitter free?
Yes. All six stems are fully downloadable on this page — no preview wall, no credits, no sign-up, no watermark. To keep it free for everyone there is a fair-use limit of a few songs every few minutes, and files are capped at 40 MB.
How good is the separation?
It runs Demucs, a state-of-the-art neural source-separation model from Meta AI research — clean enough for remixes, karaoke, sampling, and practice tracks. Dense, live, or reverb-heavy recordings can leave faint traces between stems; a higher-quality source file always separates better.
How long does it take?
Usually one to three minutes, depending on the length of the song. Splitting a full mix into six stems runs on our servers — real neural separation is far too heavy for a browser.
What file formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, and AAC up to 40 MB. Mono and stereo files both work. Every stem downloads as a clean MP3.
I only need the vocals or the instrumental — is there a faster way?
Yes. The vocal remover runs the same engine in a dedicated two-stem mode focused entirely on the voice — it's faster and slightly cleaner when all you need is the acapella or the karaoke instrumental.
What can I do with the stems after splitting?
Download any of them as MP3, or open them in the Notevibes AI editor where each stem lands on its own track — mute the drums, balance the bass, add effects, or rebuild the mix by describing what you want.
Can I use the stems commercially?
For private practice, home karaoke, and study you are fine. Publishing, monetizing, or performing stems from copyrighted songs requires permission from the rights holder — for commercial projects, use music you own the rights to.
